March Madness is almost over.

Well, time has flown. I've gotten several responses to my casting listing, but due to being swamped with projects, etc., my producer and I have yet to go over them, there do seem to be a few prospects.  The cinematographer, I wanted to work with is available and joining us from scenic Greensboro, North Carolina. That being said, I think his availability is slightly short of the full shoot, which means I may need to get creative with the schedule.    It seems lame to say that I am excited...but I am. This week has made it feel more real than the past few, and I think that it's good incentive for me to start working on the shot lists, etc. In other news, I started recording a song that MIGHT be featured on the radio in the film but only time will tell. It will be decided based on how it turns out.

Updates: March 17th

I did far less for my project over spring break than I had anticipated. That being said, further strides have been made. An actor who I have previously worked with (who is great, by the way) has agreed to appear as one of the two leads. For the other character, a flyer has been posted to a Facebook group that has worked well for me in the past, so something good should come from that.  I have worked some on the budget, but it is not finalized. The location is sorted out and the script is essentially done.  I have not begun recruiting crew from the pool of undergrads here, as I am trying to involve a couple hands that have worked with me before. My choice for director of photography is interested but hasn't confirmed with me as of yet, he seems to be leaning towards yes. I was quite pleased with our last film together, which is actually playing tonight at Reel Teal (something else I'm excited about). I don't have any more updates, other than the fact that I am most excite...

March 3rd-ish

It's always interesting to see the film projects take shape. I've been through so many different iterations of ideas that I had begun to doubt the project I was writing. Then, after switching to the Burger Night idea, I felt freer to write. As it currently stands, I have written the third draft and it is in fairly good shape. Another pass for grammar and continuity will happen at some point during spring break.  When it comes to crew, I'm still figuring that out. A 1st year MA student who lives around the corner from me has agreed to produce, he has a history in theater and TV production so it seemed a logical choice. We have met a few times now to hammer out details of the project, such as locations and props. Our next steps will involve making the budget and looking into funding methods. Spring break is proving to be a good time for me to look at this and get things further in motion.  I have a few ideas for cast and crew, I plan to start reaching out to those people soon...
